General Motors’ BrightDrop has announced that, in conjunction with FedEx, it has set a new Guinness World Record title for the farthest distance traveled by an electric pickup truck on a single charge.

The BrightDrop Zevo 600, formerly known as the BrightDrop EV600, made the nearly 260-mile (418 km) journey from New York to Washington, DC, driven by Stephen Marlin.

According to the press release, as part of the trip, the Zevo 600 carried a shipment of Full Circle sustainable cleaning products from its headquarters in New York to a location at MOM’s Organic Market in Washington, D.C., a central chain. of the family’s Atlantic- owned and operated organic grocery stores.

FedEx is a strategic first customer of BrightDrop electric vehicles, which received the first units in December 2021.

It’s worth noting that the Ultium-based BrightDrop Zevo 600 has an estimated payload of 2,200 pounds (1,000 kg) and over 600 cubic feet of cargo space. The company claims the range of the Zevo 600 is around 250 miles (400 km). This indicates that the team exceeded the nominal range during the race.

Travis Katz, President and CEO of BrightDrop, said:

“From the start, the Zevo 600 has been a record-setting vehicle. We are now seeing firsthand what BrightDrop can do by pairing our zero-emissions technology with FedEx, a leader in the transportation and delivery industry. Having long battery life with reliable power is key to electrifying delivery fleets everywhere.
