DCHS student appointed to FFA state office

Daviess County High School student Philip Caldbeck has been elected 2021-2022 Kentucky FFA Green River State Vice President.

Philip is the son of Brian and Claire Caldbeck of Philpot. He is a member of the Daviess County FFA Chapter where his advisers are Jason Smith, Chad Askins and Craig Howard.

Caldbeck was one of 23 candidates from across the Commonwealth who ran for state office. He completed an application and interview process and was selected by a nominating committee made up of senior FFA graduate members and unanimously elected by the body of delegates.

FFA state officers undergo extensive training after their election and commit to serving the organization for one year. They represent the Kentucky State FFA Association at local and regional FFA events, farm meetings, and various other functions across the state.

Kentucky FFA is an organization of more than 15,700 middle and high school students enrolled in agricultural education courses. The organization currently has 158 chapters in 115 counties.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for leadership, personal growth and professional success through agricultural education.
